Teamracing World Championship 2013

The B in Opens external link in new windowITBYC stands for beer drinking,

lacking a Opens external link in new windowWTRC 2013 as vsk skippers with a spleen for team racing

we'll try and throw a mirror party in stead...

so we won't sit on beer going to waste.

Where and how

Forum is up , preliminary regulations, are written
Schedule and some other stuff done.

Grab your team racing mates or post your dog and pony's name in the registration forum, today!  (You can update you registration later)

If something is wrong  message moderators.

 BASICS

  • participants can change event by gathering a majority for changing a regulation (Petition)
  • teams are supposed to do as much as possible by agreement, by regulation is always going to be unpleasant for both. (default schedules etc.)
  •  protesting cost very dearly if not well prepared. Protester loosing or getting protest dismissed should pay dearly, but for some exceptions. (loss or dismisal costs protesting party 3 match points, unless jury decides to give those back..)
  • workload is shared by all teams, like if your can race you can sit on a committee too. Team captain can post race results etc. (no worry, an appeal to the sailing council should get you out if jail when the jury has it wrong, and moderators and admins can help if you screw up the forum)
  • teams provide hosts for half their races. (it's a right, not a must when you can reach agreement with opponent, if you can't agree it becomes duty of course... )
  • teams build their own maps.. (like you own home waters.. course design is limited by regulations, could ofcourse borrow courses from your neighbouring team)
  • racing should be short as in real life team racing (take US college team racing as example, check youtube)
  • if teams are equaly strong score should say so (it a draw!) any thing else could be just as good decided by rolling dice. (is much faster too)
  • Host is responsible for moderation, (watch time limit of race) and gathering jury (drafted) if hearing is needed. (non frivolous protest)

 PREPARE

Make sure everybody fills their fridge up with beer before racing.
Encourage learning the rules before drinking beer.
Convince teams it is more fun to re-race and drink beer then loose a uncertain protest.
Juries like drinking beer more also..

Regulations have not been tested and thus may be subject to many changes initially.. all it needs is you to be part of a majority..
